Accommodation is all in the 3 to 4-star range, with each stay selected for its cleanliness, service, location, and comfort. After a day of cycling and cultural exploration, you can look forward to a restful night’s sleep and the chance to recharge for the next stage of your journey.

November is one of the best times of the year for cycling in western Bhutan (Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha), featuring clear blue skies, crisp dry air, and stable, sunny daytime weather. Rainfall is minimal, and mountain views are sharp, though high-altitude nights get very cold. Any weather can be changeable, but your experience won’t be limited. With excellent local guides and a dedicated support coach, we can easily adapt the itinerary by substituting cycling with cultural, historical, or nature-based activities. This flexibility ensures that each day remains rewarding and memorable, rain or shine.
-
For managing the demanding Himalayan elevation without the pressure of pure athletic performance, our trusted local operators, Snow Lion Travel offer battery-powered e-bikes. These provide pedal-assist power on mountain inclines, allowing riders to maintain a comfortable pace across mixed-terrain tours.
Gravel and mountain bikes are also available.

Red rice or white rice form the main body of most Bhutanese meals. It is accompanied by one or two side dishes consisting of meat or vegetables. Pork, beef, chicken and fish are the most common meats while a tasty variety of fresh vegetables are also on the menu. Buckwheat pancakes and noodles are also served in place of rice.
Ema Datshi, a spicy mix of chillies and the delicious local cheese is the national dish of Bhutan.
Other Bhutanese specialties, including momos (Tibetan-style dumplings stuffed with pork, beef or cabbages and cheese), phak sha laphu (stewed pork with radish), nor sha huentse (stewed beef with spinach), phak sha phin tshoem (pork with rice noodles) and bja sha maroo (chicken in garlic and butter sauce).
Besides native foods, Indian, Chinese, and the more common continental foods are also readily available.

Managing laundry may require a bit of timing and strategy due to the multi-destination itinerary.
Commercial laundromats where you wait and wash are practically non-existent in Bhutan.
Most hotels in Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha offer in-house laundry services at a small cost (depending on garments). Need to be aware of turnaround times may be 24 hours.
For lightweight items like cycle wear, underwear, socks, and base layers, sink washing in your room is an option. Bring a small travel bottle of liquid detergent or laundry sheets. Hang clothes in the bathroom or room (not outside).
We recommend packing some quick-dry clothing for added convenience.
