Ample carparking available for the duration of the tour. Commence cycling to the lovely village of Loch. Browse the arts/craft stores and then settle into delightful rail trail cycling on to Korumburra for leisurely lunch at an appealing and unique café. Onwards for 15 kms to Leongatha for our first night’s stay. Time to explore this regional agricultural hub before dinner at an Italian restaurant.

Day 2. Sunday 46 kms. Leongatha to Foster

A top ride descending to the arty village of Fish Creek and after lunch on to Foster. Cycle through more rich dairy country and the quaint villages of Koonwarra (an excellent café for home baked goodies) and vibrant Meeniyan. Fish Creek has galleries of interest including that of children’s book author Alison Lester. Mid-afternoon take a tour of the world’s largest underground cider cellar.  Arrive Foster accommodation with time to explore the town before dinner.

Day 3. Monday 52 kms.  Foster to Welshpool incl. Port Welshpool.

Post a buffet breakfast back in the Trail as it enters the flatter coastal plains to Toora before taking a side route to enjoy the natural beauty of waterfalls within a Blue Gum Forest. Descending from the falls, enjoy excellent views south to Wilson Promontory before rejoining the Trail at Welshpool and lunch. Cycle 6 kms down to Port Welshpool. It is a sleepy coastal port with a very impressive 900m curved cement deck jetty ensuring a memorable ride out to the shipping channel. Retrace the Trail before arriving at your comfortable cottage accommodation for the next two nights. Enjoy a BBQ dinner at the cottages.

Day 4. Tuesday 0-50-75 km options. Welshpool - Alberton -Port Albert – Yarram – Welshpool

Various options today including a day at rest; an exhilarating boat cruise along the Wilsons Promontory coastline (subject to weather and min. numbers) or out and back cycling across the pretty coastal tea-tree and open plains. Ride to Alberton with extensions to historic Port Albert (great fish and chips) and or pretty township of Yarram including its fabulous mural street art.

Day 5. Wednesday 52 kms. Welshpool – Meeniyan

Today take the scenic Trail back to Meeniyan through farms and forests. Toora provides an ideal morning coffee stop, popular with local cyclists, before passing through Fish Creek and a further very pleasant 20 kms to your night’s accommodation at Meeniyan. Plenty of time to explore galleries and interesting art/craft stores. A special gastronomical dinner may be possible.

Day 6. 53 kms. Thursday Meeniyan – Nyora

The last day on the Trail through the lush hilly dairy country post breakfast at one of Meeniyan’s quality cafes. The ascent up to Leongatha is steady providing a gradient conducive to a rhythmic cadence. Consider a vineyard wine tasting near Leongatha and enjoy lunch at Loch at one of its fine cafes. The final short leg to Nyora enables flexibility as to the tour end time but if there are no preferences the tour will conclude between 2 and 2.30pm.
